Darvon is an opiate used to relieve pain. It is taken in pill form and is composed of the active component known as Propoxyphene.
It is widely used to treat pain where Tylenol or Aspirin is not adequate enough for relief.
It is also used for mild post operative pain relief and could be considered a general purpose pain relief agent.
Darvocet is now generally excepted as the modern replacement for what has become the outdated Darvon.
