Darvon and Darvocet are very similar to each other. They are both used in the same classification as far as pain relief in involved.
Darvon is constituted by the active component Propoxyphene.
Darvocet is composed of the active component Dextropropoxyphene.
It is generally accepted that Darvocet is much safer to use and also has very few side effects and little or no drug interactions.
To this purpose, Darvocet has completely replaced Darvon as a prescription pain relief medication. It is generally very difficult to find a Darvon supply.
